Wage hikes boost consumer confidence in Japan

Expectations of the biggest pay raises in decades have given a solid boost to consumer confidence in Japan. That's the findings of a recent government survey.

The Consumer Confidence Index for households of two or more people came to 33.9 in March. That's up 2.6 points from the previous month and the sharpest rise since June 2021.
