Pay Transparency in 2023: How to Expect and How to Prepare

Pay transparency laws seek to advance pay equity by removing the black box around compensation that often disadvantages women and people of color, and they fall into two broad categories. The first category requires employers to include the pay range for a position in any job posting or advertisement. The information is front and center for anyone to view, offering a window into pay practices across organizations and industries, allowing job seekers to limit their application efforts to roles offering their desired compensation level, and enabling applicants and employees alike to gain key insight into the value of their skills in the job market.
